Sandbox VR | Things to do in Montreal with Teens (2024)

Sandbox VR

Experience Full-Body VR with your Frenemies...uh, teens

Inspired by Star Trek's Holodeck, their exclusive worlds let you feel like you're living inside a game or movie, and are built by EA, Sony, and Ubisoft veterans.

When:
Open All Year Round
Mon - Thurs 1 PM - 10 PM
Friday 1 PM - 12 AM
Saturday 10:30 AM - 12 AM
Sunday 10:30 AM - 10 PM

Where:
48b Brunswick Blvd, Pointe-Claire, Quebec H9R 4W3

Highlights:

  • The experience is unlike any "garden-variety" VR you may have experienced at home or at other VR places. Sandbox VR uses full-body motion capture which allows players to roam VR spaces together freely. It makes for a more immersive experience.
  • Players choose from seven exclusive experiences! Given that we are fans of the television show, our family chose to play "The Squid Game".
  • At the end of the experience, you will be able to watch video highlights of your game play (see video below for our highlights to get an idea of what to expect). You will also receive copies of the videos via email.

Rate:
Rates start at $49 per player. Rates vary depending on number of players.
Check their website for more info.

Recommended Audience:
Teenagers, Young Adults, Adults
This experience is perfect for families with teens and young adults in Montreal who are gaming enthusiasts and who love experiencing new immersive technologies.

Some things to consider during your visit:

1) Arrive 15 minutes early to give you enough time to sign the release forms and get set up for your experience.

2) Take advantage of the extra help! It states on their website that their staff would be happy to take pictures and record extra videos of you during your session (apart from the videos you already receive of your gameplay from Sandbox VR after your experience). Do not be shy to ask so that you do not miss out on having more of your special moments captured!

3) Dress comfortably and lightly. It can get quite warm playing in the VR gear, especially when you factor in how much movement you will be doing.

Disclosure: We received passes from Sandbox VR in exchange for our coverage.
