Highlights:

  • The 65-metre high tower affords unique views of the city and the river.
  • The glass cage installation provides a thrilling 360 degree panaromic view.
  • Augmented reality allows visitors to discover historical events and places in Montreal in a fun and interactive way. Blue balloons are involved...that seems to level up the fun ante which I concluded from my observation of our teens obsessing over them.
  • More blue balloons...and this time, they play music! The balloons emit different sounds according to how visitors interact with them. Our teens went to town with this installation.

Some thing to consider during your visit:

1) Manage your expectations. Visit their website which clearly outlines what they have available for you to do. That way, you will know what to expect. For us, the experience itself did not take particularly long. Our particular experience took about half an hour. We took the elevator up, played with the balloons, and checked out the glass cage installation. Certainly, you can lengthen your stay as you please. If we did not have to go, I am certain my teens would have kept playing with the musical balloons.

2) If you are heading to the tower, I would also recommend finding the time to check out the Grand Quay where you will find the Instagrammable "Bonjour Montreal" sign and visit the Commencement Square where you can view and interact with a couple of cool art installations.

Disclosure: We received passes from The Port of Montreal Tower in exchange for our coverage.
