Some thing to consider during your visit:

1) Bring reusable water bottles. On especially hot days, doing so is a must! You will be able to fill up your water bottles on site.

2) Rest in between completing courses! Participants are not permitted to attempt the diamond courses until they have completed the intermediate courses. Jumping straight to the diamond course after completing several intermediate courses without taking a break will only make the diamond course that much more difficult (my teens and their dad can tell you from experience).

3) Wear workout gloves or at least have some on hand. My daughter hurt her hand (rope burn) while on one of the courses. She could not recall how it happened. It was too painful to hold on to anything afterwards because of where the wound was located. She found wearing workout gloves (which their dad happened to have stored in our car) helped. If my daughter did not wear the gloves to keep the wound covered, she would have been unable to continue. It made us realize that wearing gloves to begin would have been a good idea.

Update: It is actually recommended to wear gloves on the Voiles en Voiles website and in the email confirmation they send out to participants. Admittedly, I completely missed that tip!

4) Do not forget to try the 3D immersive movie theatre! During a hot day, it was a relief to be in the air-conditioned area. Our kids also enjoyed the ride immensively so it's worth popping in for a quick ride.

5) Wear running shoes. This advice seems obvious enough but our kids were wearing slip on shoes...ooops. My daughter lost a shoe at one point while doing a course. It was easily retrieved by one of the workers but it is best to stick to shoes that will...well, stick.

6) Come early to beat the crowds. It can get quite busy on the site. We came right when it opened so there was less people, and thus more time to traverse the courses.

7) There are free lockers available on site to keep your valuables. Just bring your own padlock.

Disclosure: We received passes from Voiles en Voiles in exchange for our coverage.
